I discovered something today when playing around with the phone. It appears there may be a way to access the filesystem independent of PC Studio or the phone OS, therefore allowing us to change locked files like the nv_default.ini and the wallpaper bitmaps. After downloading 4 or 5 different CDMA drivers from Qualcomm and Samsung and none of them working, I thought I would post this info on here for others to research.

I also downloaded Multiloader 5.3 and it detects the phone on COM6 in boot loader mode. When I type COM6 into TK File Explorer COM settings and hit connect, it does appear to be doing something, but then I get the usual connection error.

To access bootloader mode and CDMA driver installation request:

With phone on, plug in USB Cable.
Select option for PC Studio
Turn off phone by holding down power button.
Hold down lock and camera buttons.
Power phone on by holding down power button

Then a screen with a blue border and red text should appear. It reads:

DEMSBL BOOT Loader for MSM6298
More Than Downloader V5.43

Then a found new hardware wizard window will appear on your computer screen prompting you to install drivers for Qualcomm CDMA technologies MSM.

Hopefully we can locate this driver. No luck after a few hours of messing with it and searching online.

I let Windows XP do an auto install of new hardware during that loader screen and it installed drivers for
PHD HS-USB QDLoader 9008

Not sure if this gets us anywhere.  TK still does not connect.  It is in Device Manager as that PHD device and has a COM port.

Also, for anyone else out there, I had a brief moment of panic when pushing buttons would not restart the phone to make the screen go away, but pulling the battery and restarting will start your phone as normal, all settings still in tact.

Woops... I did forget to mention that.

You must pull the battery to get the phone out of boot loader mode.

Also, for Win XP SP3 at least, it does not come with the proper Qualcomm drivers, but I was finally able to locate them online:

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=773829

Once I installed these drivers, the port did appear in TK File Explorer with the phone in boot loader mode. Now we just have to figure out why it won't connect.

I've looked into it a little more and came up with this:

It is possible to flash the Behold using the software entitled MultiLoader (http://www.mediafire.com/?jwwi4jjmzzd); however, I was unable to find the firmware for the phone so flashing the phone as of right now is impossible unless you work for Samsung.

Another program I came across is BitPim, which enables you to browse any phone (and specifically its filesystem) that runs along the Qualcomm CDMA specifications, in which the Behold does. Again, however, the program does not yet support the Behold and I was unable to connect to it. The software is open source but afaik it is written in Python (or at least the script portion) and I am unfamiliar with the language.

That's all I've got so far but be sure to check back every now and then because I'll be constantly looking into this.

EDIT:
One more thing you can try that I don't have time for right now.
Go to phonebook type in *#6984125*#
Go to internals, put in the password *#9072641*#, confirm
Go to #3 Test Mode, hit 9, then hit 6.
Mess around at this menu, try out option 2 Qualcomm USB mode.
Good luck.

I might give that a shot. Thanks for the additional info. I was also playing around with BitPim the other day. We will have to ask the makers of it whether they can add support for Behold.
