Apr. 1, 2010, at 1pm EDT, Samsung Group has announced that many of their phones shall receive firmware updates later today. Samsung apologizes for the delay for an update in some of the older phones, such as the Samsung Behold, Samsung Impression, Samsung Delve, Samsung Instinct, x427, and our very own Samsung behold. They said

"The quality of our hardware production has increased over the past years, especially since the onset of touchscreen phones, but in turn, the rise of software production could not keep up with the hardware. After three years of backlogs and multiple requests by cellular providers to update our phones, we decided, out of goodwill, to place the firmware updates for our phones as our number one priority."
They go on to say that later tonight, Samsung will release some major firmware updates for these phones. Some new features include:
- Customizable home screens and screensavers
- Ability to install games via memory card
- Accelerometer API included for Java applications to utilize
- Fix for the T9 bug, video size bug, and many other small bugs
- Removal of "permissions" on applications and making installations non-restricted (like AT&T branded)
- Documentation and Drivers for porting Android
- Ability for Multitouch applications and use in OS functionality
- Troubleshooting application for those who don't understand that the volume key changes text size
