is there a hack or trick or something that can be enabled in the network options of the Behold to allow you to set how fast or slow the Behold searches for a cell phone signal??  I remember most motorola phones allowed you to set either slow, medium fast or continuous as well as setting whether the search be automatic or manual.  The Behold only has auto or manual....

where exactly??

in the network settings, it only lets you choose auto and manual.  When you do manual, it only shows the nearest gsm towers whether they're tmobile or at&t
