Other than to connect to macs or look at the files on the phone....no. (And by look I do mean just look at them, they are locked down hard core so no transferring or opening them.)

Not sure if anyone else has been doing anything else in here, but in this menu, there are some pretty suspicious options. First hit 1(debug) then if you hit 8(phone control) then there is an option 6(upload function). It won't let me enable it without first setting the debug level higher than low.... I know some people have bricked their phones by setting it to high, but isn't there a medium setting? maybe this would allow uploading to those restricted areas of the phone? just a shot in the dark really... Any ideas about this? If I could afford to ruin my phone right now, I'd be all over this.... probably ruining my phone.

no matter how hard i try, i can't get bitpim to work on my computer....granted the steps to set up for it to work are either windows vista or mac and i have xp.  i figured that if i followed the steps for vista, it'd work, but it won't... any suggestions?? Sad i'd really like to go in and see if i can tweak with anything...

so a lot of people are complaining they can't get it to work for their mac.  well i can't either, but i think someone may be able to help if i tell you exactly what's wrong:

i have bitpim installed and my phone settings are all correct (i am running 10.4.11)
i go to edit but the only option i have is "detect phone" so i click this and it says "phone detection failed... run settings?" i click yes and it gives me the bitpim settings box.  it says read only, disk storage, config file, phone type.  so on phone type i selected LG-VX9900 (enV). then next it says com port. i click browse... and it comes up with the "choose a comm port" dialog box.  it says:
Automatic
=====Available Ports=====
Serial (/dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-sync)
=====Inoperable Ports=====
Modem(/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem)
Serial (/dev/cu.Jacob-DialupNetworking-1)

Then some random info below.

So I click the one available port and click "ok" which takes me back to the settings box where i click "ok"

Now some people say to click the "Get Data from Phone" but it won't even let me hit "ok" so i exit out.  Then I click view>filesystem  so now its checked.  then i click the filesystem tab in the left box which then pops up a folder.  i click the drop down arrow where it says "retrieving..."  Then i wait a while... and then the "retrieving" just disappears.

SO PLEASE HELP!

This worked for me to get these special service areas. What is the code for the Network & Call settings and those admin areas?
