Just got the behold about 12days ago( 2 days left till I cant return it) Its not bad, only major thing I have a probelm with is When I make my own ringtone,in this case a message alert. when I transfer it to the phone and listen to it the volume is loud enough, once it is saved/in use as message alert as soon as I get a text its a fraction of the volume, like a whisper. I have all the volume settings turned up as far as I can tell as my ringtones are fine? I have used Audacity on all previous phones to create/edit songs and clips and can ever apmlify the volume(which had no effect on the behold)
Anyone else have a problem with it? if I cant figure it out by tomorrow its going back for the g1.
Thanks

under your sound profiles. make sure it's set to vibrate and melody.  i've found the other settings generally do this.

yeah, just tried it. Still the same. Im going to try using Soundforge and see if that works better than audacity. All i want is the AOL style "you've got mail" womans voice for a text and ill be happy, now im on a mission.

if that's all you want, and we already know that the volume raises slightly for about 3 seconds.

Soundforge, add 3 secs of dead air to the beginning.

but if you add about 3 sec to the front of a ringtone once you hear the ringtone the phone will "already have rang" a few times. right?
