Since buying a new laptop with Windows 7, I have not been able to use PC Studio.  I downloaded all of the software, but my phone will not connect via the USB.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with Windows 7 but is there something like a Program Compatibility Wizard where you can run the program like you're using XP?  I know XP has it and there should be some way in 7 to run programs that are only compatible with previous versions of Windows.

That really sucks.  Guess they want you to buy all new software to go with the Windows 7.  Just helps me confirm that I'm sticking with XP as long as humanly possible.

Samsung doesn't sell new software though.  It's not that big of a deal.  I rarely used PC studio, but I notice I can't get my phone to sync with TK Explorer either.  I may get a new phone this summer, so I won't stress.

On a side note, while XP might work with Samsung software, Windows 7 is much better than XP.

I'm using Samsung_PC_Studio_322_HJ1 for Win 7. I install this as the process in Win XP, at the end of the installation process, WIN 7 warn something about the incomparability but I still ignore it and get the work done.
Now I'm using Samsung Studio on Win 7 and it works very good

After trying every possible way of operating PC Studio to Windows 7 (64 bit) with no luck, I emailed Samsung.  Here is the response:

While Samsung does not support the use of our handsets in conjunction with the Windows 7 operating system at this time, should your PC have the 32-bit version of this OS, the drivers within PC Studio may work on Windows 7 32-bit.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not currently offer drivers compatible with a 64-bit operating system.  We are unable to speculate when/if this would be available.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may present.

Basically, it won't ever work for those with W7 64 bit.

I run Windows 7 64bit and I have gotten it to work.

Download Samsung_PC_Studio_322_HJ1.exe and MCCI_WHQL_USB_Modem_Driver_4.40.7.exe

Install PC Studio.

------

Unzip the Modem Driver into any folder you like.  Then go to your device manager and look for the unidentified samsung device.  Right click it and select Update Driver Software.  Then select "browse my computer for driver software".  Locate the folder you unzipped the Modem Driver to and click OK.

Windows will locate the driver in that folder and it will install.

If that doesn't work, go to "devices and printers".  Here you will also see your unidentified samsung device.  Right click it and select "troubleshoot".  Not exactly sure what happens next but within the next few clicks, widows will automatically download a version of the modem software from samsung.  Unzip that to any folder and repeat the same process after ------.

I've already tried both of those methods several times and it doesn't work.  When I try to update the driver, Windows doesn't recognize the file.

I actually installed, uninstalled, reinstalled....over and over probably 10 times before it finally worked.  I spent well over 5 hours researching and trying to install this shoot phone.

Eventually, the method i explained above eventually worked.  I'm almost positive I tried that method several times too.  Maybe it works "randomly".  Just keep trying lol

Thanks for the help, I will try again eventually.  I've probably spent over 5 hours the past month trying to get PC Studio to work correctly.  I really just want to backup my address book and calendar in outlook, and there is no other way to do it.  I may upgrade my phone over the summer, which is partially why I'm just giving up on PC Studio.

I finally found a way to have Windows 7 64 bit find the driver.  Instructions are here: http://www.thewindowscenter.com/showthread.php?22-Getting-the-Samsung-Eternity-%28SGH-a867%29-to-work-on-Windows-7-with-USB-*works-on-x64*.

Its absolutely ridiculous that the both of us had to go through such crap to get this piece of crap phone to work.  Samsungs ratings, per me, have suffered severely because of this debacle of a phone.
