I had the $24.99 data plan and $19.99 unlimited text messaging.  Here's how I changed my data plan, it has worked fine so far.  I logged onto the t-mobile website, changed my phone from behold to gravity.   This will make the $9.99 web plan appear (100meg cap).  I unselected my $24.99 plan, selected the $9.99 plan.  I eventually received a text message saying my changes had been made.  After doing the full html hack (search on this forum) to my phone, I am able to hit any website just fine.  I never ever came close to 100meg per month, even when downloading games/apps so this plan fits my usage style.
This article talks about setting up different phones to be used with T-MobileWeb (the new T-Zones)

I haven't tried anything in the article so caveat emptor.

kinda off topic but is there anyway to find out just how much i am usin?  have the $25 web2go plan but if i use less than 100mb im changin that
unlimited internet + 400 text messages 24.99/month ---smartphone plan
100 MB Web + Unlimited Messages for phones $19.99/month   -----web2go
50 MB Web + 200 Messages for phones $9.99/month  ------web2go
im guessing you have the smartphone plan

That's strange, my $9.99 line level service that I added shows up as this:

100 MB Web for phones - Stay connected when you are on the move, with Web access on your phone or your T-Mobile phone.

Do they change these offers regionally?   hmmm...  Undecided

I did change access name to internet2.voicestream.com but did not change port :80 (left it alone).
Seems to work fine for me.

you have to change your phone like make it say you have a razor or something and it gives you different plans then when you pick the 9.99 one switch it back to say you have a behold
