Becasue i use internet i drain the battery alot
my mom said that if you charge the battery too much, it will lose its battery life and get shorter and shorter.
Is this true

yea i heard of this on the news. it really happens if u wait until the battery runs low
or dies.

Its true with all rechargable batteries, the more you use them and recharge them the shorter the battery life. But it usually takes like thousands of recharges until the battery life becomes noticably shorter.

rechargeable batteries usually last 2-4 years, then they start wearing off, but it really depend on use. and 2 days ago, i went full on internet browsing and lost 3 of 5 bars in like 4-5 hrs

I actually asked this on Yahoo! answers a year ago. All of the responses told me that the new rechargeable batteries will lose their charge but at a slow rate. It has nothing to do with overcharging it. And Jerrycobra, the internet severely drains the battery, especially if you're in a 3G Zone. What you mentioned will happen with even the newer, less used batteries. Staying logged in on AIM and YIM does the same as well, though not as much because it connects to the internet to refresh the list every ten or so minutes, and not loading new data every second like it is for when you're browsing sites.
