Author Topic: Why won't my laptop install Samsung PC Studio???  (Read 1368 times)

can someone please help me?!  i downloaded SPS, but it wont recognize my phone.  when i connect my phone to my laptop, it says that i need to have the correct driver.  I went to samsung.com and tried to download the "MCCI driver", but it isnt working.  It will download, then say something about unzipping files.  I click unzip, and then it just says "44 files successfully unzipped" and stops there. I tried restarting my computer and got nothing.  It made no difference I watched the video by Persian, and thought I was doing everthing correctly.  Can someone please help?!

Are you using a mac or a pc and if a pc what OS?

hmm I don't know too much about vista , I use xp pro. I'll look around and see  if can find anything that might help.

thanks girl!  i've looked everywhere.  on here and other sites.  my laptop had no problem downloading the PC Studio.  but it wont run without the driver and I can't seem to download the damn driver.  this is frustrating!@

ok I did a little searching on the web, not sure if this applies to the problem you're having  but  there might be some useful information, unless you've already tried the options offered. Hopefully there's something that'll help you out Smiley

i really appreciate your help.  still no luck though.  the part i'm still stuck at is that my computer won't install the driver.  it says ins installing, but then when it asks if i want to run it, it pops up another box telling me to unzip files.  i click unzip and it unzipz 44 files each time and thats it.  it does nothing else.  it just stops.  goes no further. is there a step im missing??  i seriously doubt this is ever going to work unless someone lives close enough to me to physically do this on my computer.  otherwise, i just don't see it happenin...

I can't remember what I did . I got the same thing  but I'm using a different operating system. I think  I looked for the .exe files  in the unzipped files. I don't wanna give you misinformation.I'll look around some more and see what else I can find.

OK I re-read that link that I posted again .After you unzip the files, where did you have the folder saved to?
If you can find that folder explore the folder and  look for setup.exe or
setup launcher.exe and click on that .I'm thinking this should work.

ok, sooo...I got the driver to download, FINALLY!  And the PC Studio now recognizes ,y phone.  However, when going into the "settings" in TK File Explorer, and trying to put in the "port", it says "WARNING!--unable to open the specified port.  Please try again."  And I've already tried re-starting my computer.  Any suggestions?

I've heard a lot people saying they had this problem with vista. I'd have to look around and see what they did. Glad to hear you finally got the driver installed.

did u try another port? for some odd reason tk will work n certain ports better than others.

I'm running vista too...it took like 2 days to figure it out...It only regonizes my phone when i connect to to ports in the back of the computer. There is two on the right side and two in the back...make sure to try all four ports..
