How do I find out what the proper COM setting is? I've used everything from COM1 to COM16...one of them showed the "P" drive (Phone) but when I tried to expand the tree, nothing happened...

but then after I rebooted the PC, i couldn't get ANY of the to see the P drive...

are you on pc or mac?
do you have your usb in a 2.0 slot?
are you setting your fone to PC studio?
Make sure bluetooth is turned off on the fone, and pcstudio is not running while trying to open tk explorer.

Where do you access the games on the phone once you transfer them over?  I've finally got the tkfileexplorer to work and I have moved the .jar and .jad files into the exe>Java>games folder.  Where are they on the phone?  I've turned the phone on and off after disconnecting it and I'm still not finding them.  Thanks!  (oh, this was the one I gave you the cookie for, Persian.)

Thank you all for trying to help the feeble get the most out of our sweet new phones, though I have a frustrating problem:

I can connect to the Behold and see the unhidden files via Samsung's proprietary PC Studio 3, however when I attempt to connect via TkFileExplorer 2.2, I always get the error handler which reads: "Error: The communication link is lost."  I can see the phone's tree when this error pops up, however when I click OK (which I have to do of course) it disappears.

Some facts on the ground:
1. I'm using Parallels to run WinXP on a macbook pro and don't have any USB2 slots, though I can connect via the PC Studio in XP and in Mac to upload.  Might there be a way to do this directly in OSX?

2. My phone is in PC Studio mode when I connect, and I connect at the correct time (as per video and posts).
3. Blackberry is turned off.
4. I can get it to populate a com port (Port 3), though trying to connect always brings up the error msg.

If you have time and can throw any of your expert advice my way it would awesome.  Happy Holidays..

Did you update your data bases like instructed in various posts throughout the forums?

Updating Java DB;

Dial *#6984125*#
Go to Internals
Master Key *#9072641*#
Storage Settings>Update Java Db
Storage Settings>Update app database

you should be good to go after that.

I would suggest just running the procedure on a borrowed Windows machine....
Parallels has been horrible to me with most peripherals, I just generally hate it.
It's not meant for things like replacing USB drivers or interpreting RFCOMM signals or anything like that...
I've tried several times to unlock Motorola phones on it, and have bricked them every time.

ALL of the above...Bluetooth off, PCStudio not running, Phone is set to PC Studio USB mode...no matter what I do, I get the "Phone P:" icon, but when I click on it or the plus sign to expand the tree, nothing happens...

Okay I got to the next level and I'm stuck again.

I managed to get TKFileExplorer working, and uploaded a couple of games to the phone, then I updated the Java DB as directed.

But I can't see the games when I look at Games and Apps on the phone.

What am I doing wrong?

I
've tried loading them into Exe/Java/Games, Exe/Java/Locked Games, Exe/Java/Games/Folder-with-same-name-as-jar-file, and same thing with subfolder of locked games.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I'm SO CLOSE!!!

you need to have .jar and .jad in their own folder.
