Ugly menu on the bottom of an app

Hi I am wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the unnecessary menu that pops up on certain apps like opera and snaptu. It takes up about half an inch on the bottom of the screen. It has arrows pointing in all directions, two buttons on each side with 3 dots. It just takes up screen space. Please let me know its driving me crazy.
