Hey i was just wondering is there a way you can give people their own text message tone like a certain song for when they text i kno you can do it for when they call but haven't found a way for text...so not sure if you can...but if anybody knows let me kno.

Hmmm I know there is a way to change the alert sound to pretty much anything you want but it would be universal for all texts, regardless of who it comes from.

Mine works I just assigned different ring tones to each person and that rings through as their text tone as well.

if you have ringtones on your handset. go to the music player, click the add to button and you can assign tones to individual contacts

Hmm I didn't know you could do this.  Maybe it never worked for me that way since I set the alert via the sound profile.  I gotta try that out! =)

You can't set different message tones for specific ppl. its only one default for everyone

make sure your contacts are saved to phone not sim, b4 i moved mine over i could set custom ringtones

nahh you cant set it so that it plays a different message tone for every contact
that only works for calls
motorola does it though.
but samsung has always had it so that you set one message tone for every text message.
