A "bricked" phone is a phone that cannot boot because of a firmware (OS) failure. Usually, this happens to corrupted files, changed settings, or failure to update the  and App DB. You need to "reflash", or reload, your firmware back onto your Behold if it fails to boot.

This method has been tested and proven to work on the Eternity, and I will modify the method for the Behold's files. NOTE: I do not know if your phone has been updated or not. This was the only version my buddy gave me. If there is an updated version, you can always update after you flash the firmware.

Here is a step-by-step way of flashing your firmware from the bootloader:

A) Requirements:
-Samsung Behold
-USB Data Cable
-Windows OS (if you don't know what this means, you shouldn't be using a computer)
-Behold Firmware (http://rapidshare.com/files/407404438/T919_UVHL3.rar.html)
-A program to decompress the RAR to the seperate files (IZarc is a good one, found here: -http://download.cnet.com/IZArc/3000-2250_4-10072925.html)
-Samsung Behold drivers (found here, under the software tab, not sure if it is newer or older version)
-MultiLoader_v5.50.exe (it is an application, not an installer. find it in the .rar file above, in the uploaded files on the bottom of the post, or here: http://www.samsung-behold.com/how-to/how-to-fix-a-bricked-behold!/?action=dlattach;attach=1245)

Try this step first before part C. This new method partially flashes the phone, and does not delete contacts, data, settings, etc.
B) Follow the PARTIAL firmware flash (unbricking) steps (do this method first)
Quote
Steps:
1. Put your bricked phone in bootloader mode by holding down the red power button and the down volume button at the same time until the screen pops up.
2. Open up Multiloader v5.5 and under the "control" box, select "MSM6275/MSM6280/MSM6290"
3. Plug your USB Data cable into your phone and into your computer (at this point port numbers should show up at the very bottom and the Download button should be highlighted, if not, do a "Port Search.")
4. DON'T check any of the boxes above that say, Boot Change, Full Download, etc.... Boot and Apps should be the only tabs not highlighted below.
5. Click on the "Amss" button and locate the Amss.bin folder and then click open.
6. Click the "Rsrc1" button and locate the Rsrc.rc1 file and then open.
7. Click the "Rsrc2" button and locate the Rsrc.rc2 file and then open.
8. Click Download and the phone will then be reflashed. ( don't disconnect the cable until it tells you it is completed and the phone restarts.)

After the restart your phone should have all your personal data and settings the same.

C) Follow the FULL firmware flash (unbricking) steps (only after you try the partial flash first!)
Quote
Steps:
1. Put your bricked phone in bootloader mode by holding down the red power button and the down volume button at the same time until the screen pops up.
2. Open up Multiloader v5.5 and under the "control" box, select "MSM6275/MSM6280/MSM6290"
3. Plug your USB Data cable into your phone and into your computer (at this point port numbers should show up at the very bottom and the Download button should be highlighted)
4. Check the box that says "Full Download."
5. Click the "BOOT" button and locate the boot folder which is located in the firmware file that you downloaded earlier and click open. (Note that the folder won't show any contents but the contents are there and will be used.
6. Click on the "" button and locate the Amss.bin folder and then click open.
7. Click the "Rsrc1" button and locate the Rsrc.rc1 file and then open.
8. Click the "Rsrc2" button and locate the Rsrc.rc2 file and then open.
9. Click the "Factory FS" button and locate the FactoryFs.ffs file and then open it.
10. Click Download and the phone will then be reflashed. ( don't disconnect the cable until it tells you it is completed.)

The whole process only takes about 2-3 minutes and then it will restart the phone and then you will be prompted to calibrate the touchscreen. After calibration then you are in business!!!

1 day and no comments? I know this is a bump, I apologize, but this is sad. Are you guys kidding me? This means you can test a slew of modifications to your phones, and if it screws it up, you always can start back from where you started. You should message those who bricked their phones and quit the forum so they can try this. Believe it or not, you can actually test modded firmware now...

been waiting to see if someone with more modding skills gets going on this. i don't have the expertise.

how do you edit the firmware, or can it even be done. also the firmware posted only has bejeweled in the FactoryFs.ffs file and the phones came preloaded with the sims, bejeweled, and telenav. are we sure this is the full firmware?

Talk with Americo24 on the Eternity forum. He is modding our firmware currently.

Hey, MerkurAlex from the Eternity forums here!

I believe the only file we have found out how to edit is the FFS file which you can do using a program called winimage(http://download.cnet.com/WinImage/3000-2646_4-10003117.html) i am unsure of the mods you can do there your on your own.

My antivirus did the same thing but believe me its fine im using it right now to edit the FFS file

@isherleh
it is also a image editor and the FFS file is an image thus meaning .... you can edit the files inside of it i would not have mentioned the software if it was not being used go ahead and ask americo or anyone else from the Eternity forums that knows about editing the firmware and they will tell you winimage.

I can vouch for this fix. I bricked my phone a couple days ago, and this fixed it right up.
