I have a micro sd card reader and tried to add a downloaded mp4 to my phone, it said it was formatted for the iphone and most cell phones. It says it is not a supported file, what format does it have to be to play?

that is the right format, you just need to have the right size dimensions for the video.  our phone is 320x220 i believe? so you need to crop it to that

Yeah Persian is right you have to go to 2 web sites and download samsung pc studio program for your phone and also download program call formatfactory1.61 and add to your desk top you can google both web sites.
