Touchscreen dies when dialing

Hi...I replaced my digitizer on my behold.  Screen & buttons all work fine except when I receive or place a call.  When I dial out the screen goes blank and is unresponsive until the calls ends.  When I receive a call, on the first ring i can see who is calling; after that the screen goes black until the call is over.  This means that when I call voicemail I am unable to use any of the prompts.  Anyone else experience anything similar to this?  Obviously I screwed something up when replacing the digitizer.  Thanks!
