Every ringer or tone on the t919 Behold is an increasing tone. That's the problem. Meaning that the default installed tones are to short to really hear them. When you are in here

"Menu -> Settings -> Sound Profiles -> Normal (or which ever profile you want to customize) -> Press the Down arrow on the top right corner for "Message" -> And Customize your Text Message Notification "

you need to go into "Sounds" in the lower right hand corner and use a ringtone sound from the default library or one that you downloaded for free at http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/

I am using the THX Dolby Surround Sound as my text alert.

Dan, I am ready to come over there and get you for making me feel stupid. LMAO (kidding).

Although this is a retarded (locked increasing ringtones) feature and still Samsungs fault, I applaud you Suzyqoh who did say she did the same (and credited holdingbehold for finding this as well). I mean, come on...who knew ALL the ring tones were increasing by default and locked into that format? Grin

Now that I have picked a long a$$ ringtone (HIGHWAY, until I find Planet, Renegades of Funk Rock or The Message) I get all of my messages immediately. Guess I now have to attack Samsung about the increasing ring tone.

You're so right... the ringtone is "NOT QUITE", as in, not quite loud enough!!! LOL LOL
But seriously, whether it's becuase they set all the ringtones to "increasing" which I had noticed early on, that translates to them not being loud enough, no? Anyone have a clue why'd they'd even set it up like that? To have all the ringtones set to increase when there's clearly options for you to choose your preference: Normal, Increasing, Vibrate, etc

what I have done to kind of solve this problem was to insert 2 seconds of silence at the begining of all my custom ringtones. I use a program called cyberpower audio editing lab. You can also increase the volume of the audio file you are working with if needed. Two seconds seems to be just right as the ringtone starts when the phone is at its loudest.
