Read around these forums a bit and you'll get LOTS of info on this phone. The G1 may do more things but I for one, hate any phone that I have to flip around or up or anything to get to the keyboard (but that's just me. I even hate flip phones  Roll Eyes ) My neighbor has the G1 and she really likes it. I think it's too bulky too. The Behold is more sleek and more... sexy~ The Behold isnt as heavy either.
Cant wait to see which one you decide to go with...

As said by GWELLS, this is the best way to put it: "Bottom line...this is not a bad phone. Not a great phone. Not a crappy phone (at all). "

For starters, read up on these two that are a few of many discussions about this phone:

I used the g1 for a few weeks before I switched to the samsung behold..I liked the g1 alot but was frustrated with the bugs in its software..there are some issues with the behold,,but it basically depends on what your needs are,,for the g1,,if you find that you do alot of web surf, email etc,,texting etc,,it's a great choice,,if you like to have more of a multimedia phone for mms, video capt,,music etc than teh behold is a great choice..
the camera on the g1  is very poor,,and no video capture,,the camera on the behold is great,,some issues of being slow..
the behold fits perfect in front pants pocket,,where as the g1 is bulkier..
bottom line if you need something closer to a smartphone,,g1 is it,,if you want a high end multimedia phone then the behold is it..
one drawback with the g1 is that you basically have to have the data plan to take full advantage of its capabilities..
where as the behold can be used for mms texting,,with out the data plan..which is what i do..hope this helps..

Prec and SuzyQoh put it all in perspective. lol.

I got the store where I purchased the phone to agree to give me the G1 as well for my troubles. Took a little arm twisting and a few well placed threats (in the form of bad mouthing the store policy and making me wait 2 weeks for a phone) got me on top.

Hey, this Amerika people!
lol.

LOL So they just handed over another phone (the G1) to you and now you have the G1 and the Behold?
I told TMo I was leaving (which I really was planning on doing) if they couldnt give me some type of "deal" on the Behold. I really was going to switch to Verizon (They pink Blackberry is exclusive to them). TMo gave me a small carrot. They waived the $18 upgrade fee and gave me the phone for $150 without the mail in rebate. (whoop de doo  Tongue) Anyway, Verizon's rate plans are crappy and I've been with TMobile for 5 plus years so I decided to stay...
I think most people who have it or happy with the G1. My neighbor loves hers but I could never even try it. I dont care what all it does. It's just too ugly for me personally. It looks like a bar of soap especially the new white one.   Wink

I agree with Prec 18. Mo co-worker has the G1 and he loves it. To me it all depends on what you want from the phone. He likes everything it does. He even had our manager scanning bar codes with the dang thing, lol.
For me, personally, I don't need all of that from a phone. But most importantly, I think the phone is absoutely ugly. Plus it looks cheap. You have to slide the vacr to get to the keyboard, which is also unattractive. It almost looks like a cheap, imitation sidekick. But that's my opinion. The Behold has its issues as wel, but it is sexy as hell, lol. I'm pretty happy with my choice for the most part. But I'l be anxiously awaiting updates just like everyone else.

Okay I've been on countless behold forums, and seen damn near every youtube review, internet review, and video period on the Behold and I absolutely love the device. I ordered the Expresso on THXGVG and I can't wait. But I go to u of i in champaign and i obviously dont have a 3G network, my issue is that I've heard the Behold's internet is slow and the G1 is way faster, I had a sidekick 3 b4 my current phone now (the Motorola ROKR E8) and I really like keyboards, but I also don't mind touchscreen keyboards (I have an iTouch) but the one thing that keeps me locked with the Behold is that the G1 has got to be the worst looking touchscreen phone I've ever seen. The banana curve looks dumb and I see no point in paying 300 bones on a phone that can't record vids but it seems like the G1's OS appreciate's over time and cool little features will make up for all of the design's flaws. And I would rather have an ugly cool phone, then a sexy loookin boring phone. But I am a broke college student and I got rid of my sidekick b'cuz data plans cost too much. As u can see I am obviously uncertain of my purchase and I have considered trading my Behold in before I have even gotten it. The phone itself looks amazing and the TouchWiz UI looks cool, but the G1 OS has got to be the best since the iPhone. But I cannot and will not get past the hack job HTC did with building this thing. It just looks horrible. And almost every T-Mo forum site has every G1 owner bad-mouthing the Behold and making it seem like the baby sister of the G1.
Any encouragement from current and happy Behold owners would be highly appreciated.

Hey! Being the "baby sister" wouldnt be a bad thing would it? LOL If it's true that the Behold is the baby sister to the G1 then let me say this: The big brother has it's advantages and the baby sister has her advantages too~   Cheesy Wink Smiley
