Well I am writing to tell about the new pink samsung behold I bought my daughter just a few days before xmas. I bought it from tmobile and I paid 350.00 for this phone because i upgraded my daughters phone. Well last week on the 14th of jan. she had plugged it in to the wall charger the nite before only to wake up to a very very hot phone that would not power up/on. It was so hot (as it seemed to me as if it had overheated and shorted out) I googled only to find out this phone just came out at the end of nov. We did purchase insurance but being it was new it was under manufacturer warranty. Well tmobile would not switch the phone out in the store here in jacksonville so i was told i would be sent out another one . Well just for all who would think oh ok i will be getting a new replacement. Welp no just because it has a manufacturer warranty does not mean the manufacturer has to send you out a new phone. I just got the replacement yesterday and it was a refurbished phone. Can you believe it , refurbished already. Its really something when you pay so much for a phone that only due to the manufacturer shorts/burns out and then they send you a used one (mind you it had scratches on the bottom of the phone)I am really disappointed in this considering this phone cost so much. It also seems as when I did a google search the new G1 phone is also having the same issue of overheating. So please research a bit before investing right away into this phone, maybe wait a little bit longer to see how many actually overheat.

sounds to me like the step down transformer in the charge went and that fried the phone, and yes gettin your phone replaced gets you a refurbished phone, unless you be a total beach about it abd demand a new phone and threaten to switch carriers

as for seeing that phones like the g1 have had similar problems i wouldnt doubt technology isnt perfect and it would be a good idea to remember that saves alot of grief

Good evening Smiley yes you might be on to something about the charger. Seems like i was reading another forum about certain phones overheating and it has something to do with leaving it charging for a certain amount of time (with the g1 and samsung) I know there is another samsung that has had issues with the overheating as well. When i did take it into tmobile the first thing they checked was the battery then they tried switching batteries with another behold and of course no power up on it. yes i am bummed that it was replaced with a refurbished phone considering the cost of this phone and my daughter had taken such great care of this phone (hers had no scratches looked as if it were straight out of the box). I will see about contacting samsung directly but also in posting to this and other forums I want to let others know about this problem. Also had we not been home seriously this phone was that hot it couldve been a fire hazard. take care Smiley

i would not except a phone that has scratches on it.. just call and give them a piece of your mind and I'm sure they will send you another.. if not just tell them it has some other issues and they will send another.. i cant believe they are sending refurbs all ready.. that says alot about this phone..

i have only had mine for 2months and I'm on my 3rd swap for rebooting.. if it happens again they have to upgrade to i think the iPhone..  i am furious over this whole situation..

well, hope things work out !

Good morning :)ckessler235
Wow , your on your 3rd behold phone? What does it mean when it would not reboot? Does it not power up/on. I only have texting for my daughter plus regular phone service. When your phone carrier replaced the phone did they send you a brand new phone or ref.? My carrier is tmobile. Do you think i should contact them about the ref. or try and contact samsung directly about them sending out a ref phone? thank you and sorry for all the questions. Have an awesome day! Smiley

I dont know, My wife has the pink ( being pink would have nothing to do with it, same interior different housing) and I myself make sure that when the phone says fully charged I take it off and she has had it for about a month. I have the expresso. Nothing is wrong, although I know better because i use to work at a phone shop and to many people did the same thing, put it on the charger before they went to bed and take it off when you wake up (big huge mistake). I put it on the charger as soon as I get home and take it off a few hours later. Im sorry this had to happen to you but I guess with mistakes you learn what not to do so you don't have to go through the headache.

rebooting is when your phone powers itself off then back on.. It happens when I'm loading up a web page or checking my email. It also does it sometimes when its just setting and not being messed with.. It is really annoying  and frustrates the heck out of me when I'm in the middle of doing something and it happens. When it does that i have to start what ever i was doing from scratch.

as far as them sending you a refurbished phone already i would flip out . That is a manufacturer defect not something that was caused by you.. They really need to do something about all these problems ..
