Author Topic: Phonebook listing some names as lastname, firstname  (Read 374 times)

I used to have a Windows Mobile phone which I synced with my computer's Outlook, and all the names in the phonebook were stored as 'lastname, firstname'

When I synced my behold to Outlook, it transferred over the phonebook, and in the Behold, it actually appears as 'lastname, firstname'. However, when I add new entries directly in the phone, they appear as: 'firstname lastname'. So now there's some stuff in my phonebook that's listed with last name first and some with first name first. I can't find any such setting to make it one way or the other.

Has anyone come across this or know of a fix?

Thanks.

What do you mean? When editing an entry in the phonebook, both types of entries appear identical: the first name and last name appear in the appropriate boxes. The only difference is their appearance when browsing the phonebook. And I haven't been able to find a setting that's telling it to display some one way and the others a different way.

Unless you have way to many contacts, edit the last name to first and first name to last.Or google it.

Even though I have a lot of contacts, there seems to be no way around it, so I had to do this manually.

1. Open a phonebook entry.
2. Click Edit.
3. Click on first name.
4. Click Save (no need to change the name or anything).
5. The name will now be saved as 'firstname lastname'.

Step 4 is required, even though you don't actually change anything. I guess this isn't a common issue for people.
