Touchscreen is great; it's just that, for some odd reason it appears that I now have some permanent blueish circle in the middle of the screen. But other than that, it's awesome. If i were to compare it to let's say the iPod Touch, though, the iPod's is much smoother and touch-friendly.
I'm going to have to agree with jaytrajik and say that the phonebook on the phone is one of the best I've used. It's very user-friendly, but at the same time advanced. Great job by Samsung there.
The camera, oh wow. One of the best features of the phone. Why? It's very customizable and offers many exciting features that other phones, even digital cameras, do not. Forgot to mention, the resolution on the phone is incredible. I remember zooming in all the way on a license plate in front of me a couple yards ahead (it was an awesome one haha) and the picture came out crystal clear. The flash is bright and excellent for night-time/dimmed photo taking.
Reception is good, and I'm liking the way alerts are shown on the TouchWiz UI (User Interface, or some people prefer the term OS - Operating System). SMS's/IM's/Missed Calls/etc. are all nicely laid out for you on a tabbed pane.
The storage capacity for data is incredible. I'm impressed that it is SDHC capable, offering much more room than the already decent 1GB provided to you internally as well.
Built-in/default/internal applications are a good starting set. For example, the voice recognition software is nice and others such as the converter (although not currently up-to-date?) and calendar are satisfactory to my standards.
I've seen much crappier preset MP3 Players on phones in the past, and the one that comes with this phone is also satisfactory. It gets the job done with very little clutter and outputs a clear digital sound.
One of the coolest features, I think, is the light sensor located next to the speaker in the phone. For example, during a call when your ear is pressed against the phone, it turns off/locks the screen so you don't trigger buttons while on the phone. This was a major pet peeve of mine, especially with my last phone. Good job Samsung.
The call log is also very much sophisticated for a non-Smart-Phone and provides excellent detail about missed/outgoing/incoming calls; grouped by callee/caller.
I could go on and on, but I feel like this is a good place to stop. Overall, great phone.
