Get these cats on their job! Contact them, complain and make them release a patch for this MESSAGE ALERT/PhoneKiller issue as well as general lack of support or firmware updates.

1-888-987-HELP(4357)
or go to:
http://www.samsung.com/us/info/contactus.html#
and click TMOBILE. Nag these lazy losers. Make sure you have your IMEI and S/N ready (located under battery).

Oh, it is everyone. They had to know about this. Had I tested this product (well, any of us) would have detected this issue just as we already have.

I think it was mean-spirited to release a knowingly defective product and not even be gracious enough to offer an update immediately.

This may be my FINAL Samsung problem.

The message alert tone is not quite. Every ringer or tone on the t919 Behold is an increasing tone. That's the problem. Meaning that the default installed tones are to short to really hear them. When you are in here

"Menu -> Settings -> Sound Profiles -> Normal (or which ever profile you want to customize) -> Press the Down arrow on the top right corner for "Message" -> And Customize your Text Message Notification "

you need to go into "Sounds" in the lower right hand corner and use a ringtone sound from the default library or one that you downloaded for free at http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/

I am using the THX Dolby Surround Sound as my text alert.

First off, the message tone IS too quiet. Second, every tone shouldnt be an increasing tone. If that's the case, why'd they put the option to even make it incresing, or normal, etc?? Doesnt make sense.
I havent dowloaded any tones or sounds but as far as the few that are already on the phone, (for the messages I think there's about 5 or so) they are way too soft.

You're absolutely right. I'm getting very irritated with this as well ... this is wrong. I always disliked this increasing ringtone crap and now I cannot even change it. By the time I hear my actual ringtone it's time to leave a voice mail on my phone - so I miss almost 4 out of 5 phone calls. I am also going to contact them because this is simply intolerable. Thank you for the information - they'll be hearing from me as well.

As a matter of fact, I just sent them that e-mail through the website. I sounded very irritated , which I am because I missed few very important calls because of their stupidity and lack of concern and care for their consumers. I am simply upset because the phone is so lovely in appearance but lacks few basic things > nice themes (because I cannot stand the white looking menu), NORMAL ringtone volume (which if you ask me is still not loud enough - even when it hits it's highest point) and NORMAL message alert (which should be loud enough for us to hear and  prec18 has a great point about keeping a message alert short, sweet and loud). So thanks for your post, hopefully samsung will actually do something about it  Undecided Undecided

what I have done to kind of solve this problem was to insert 2 seconds of silence at the begining of all my custom ringtones. I use a program called cyberpower audio editing lab. You can also increase the volume of the audio file you are working with if needed. Two seconds seems to be just right as the ringtone starts when the phone is at its loudest.

Jeff,
let me interpret that response from Samsung, if ya dont mind:

"Dear Jeff,
Yeah, we got your message. We dont care but here's a reply that may make you think we do or at least let you know we did get your message. Your message/concerns have been forwarded to File 13"

("File 13" is the trash can for those who dont know...)  Wink Cheesy Grin Sad Cool
