Does this really work? I have heard mixed reviews on it.

Conditioning your battery,

Let your battery die, charge it straight through for 12 - 24 hrs., repeat two to three times.

When I first get a rechargeable battery I always do this first. My battery was lasting me two days with heavy use (web, text, calls, music and videos). One weekend I was not able to charge it because I had not planned on staying at my friends. I had only charged in with my computer and the data cable a few hours in two days. After this the battery would die around 7 pm with only some texts and some calls (because I was trying to get what I could out of it). I then conditioned the battery three times and it's now lasting longer then it did before this all happened. At the end of the night, I have only used one bar on the battery indicator. It is healthy for the battery to do this once in awhile (maybe every two to three months).

Can my phone be turned on and text while its charging ? Or it has to be off when its charging for 12-24hrs ?

Frankly I'm a bit skeptical of the "conditioning" method, if only because the phone charger simply wont charge the battery for 24 hours straight.  If you run your battery down completely and plug it in before you go to bed, in the morning it will ALREADY indicate a full charge.  Leaving it plugged in any longer than that hypothetically doesn't do ANYTHING to the already fully charged battery.

Now with regard to running the battery completely (or close to completely) down before charging it, I'm open to the possibility that this MIGHT be beneficial.  However, I seem to recall reading somewhere that Lithium Ion batteries last longer when they're NOT run completely down, so I'd be interested in seeing some data that supports one strategy or the other.

It is fairly common knowledge these days (and there's a lot of data support this) that NiCad batteries DO benefit from being run completely down and fully recharged, but LiIon batteries are supposed to be immune to such problems (and Nickel Metel Hydride batteries are resistant as well).  Having said that, I've experienced what I consider shorter than acceptable battery life on my Behold, so any "procedure" that improves battery performance is one that I'd be willing to consider trying.

Regards,
Steve

Can this be done to a older battery, one that has been used for a month or more? Or does it have to be one that you just got, never been charged it yet?

Conditioning Batteries work. My behold last for 4 days on max brightness with heavy web and music use.  I stay up for very long time just texting or web browsing and the phone last for long time.

at the end of the day, how many battery bars do you lose tops? i haven't conditioned my battery, don't have a data plan so no web use. all i do is talk & text, but when i use my music player i lose like 3 bars really quickly.

So, I was hoping someone out there could help me out.  My battery on the behold worked awesome for like 8 months, but as of a few days ago, it'll drain super quick.  I'll charge it in the day, use it rarely, just a few texts, maybe a short game, then I'll go to bed, and when I wake up its dead.  Would this battery conditioning work for me? It seems all of the people who commented on here either had a good or bad battery from the get go.  Do I have to get a new one, cause that would suck.  Thanks for the help
