Look at this picture or better yet just grab out your behold if you have it on you and go to the full screen qwerty keyboard

http://common.ziffdavisinternet.com/util_get_image/19/0,,i=195766&sz=1,00.jpg

For the most part, is a pretty decent keyboard, but that theres one button that really grinds my gears. Its that little button to the left of the "a" key. It flips the screen from full keyboard to numeric mode. But what im wondering is like, why would they even make such a button?

The keyboard uses the accelerometer, so if you want to switch it to numeric mode, you just flip the phone back. I dont know about all of you, but I mostly type my messages in full keyboard mode and when Im finished I just press the "done" key. Now all in all it wouldn't really bother me that the phone has some useless button on it but they happened to put it right by the "a" key. So every time i miss the "a" button, I end up pressing that flip button while im texting, which flips the phone to numeric and I end up typing a bunch of crap.

Anyways thats my little rant, it just makes me a little angry. Maybe someone knows of a way to disable the key? Or am I the only one with the problem? lol

heh heh...

I don't even use the keyboard anymore. I found that I can text faster and more efficiently in the vertical position. Plus what really bugs me is that my cousin got the instinct and the keyboard on that seems a bit bigger and she even got a stylus with it! I think the behold would need a stylus more than the instinct.

Lol well I got so used to the full keyboard from using my wing that I just am to stuborn to switch back lol. I've calibrated my phone multiple times but it seems like it (or me always seems to change) how im typing and so I end up making tons of errors too lol.

T9 in full keyboard mode is actually pretty cool now for me tho, its more of an auto-spell check in full keyboard mode, which means I can type sloppier and still get the correct words.
For instance: type duper with t9 on, it will fix it to super for you. And you just add in words as necessary.

My only question is, is there a way to delete words out of the t9 memory bank? I searched the forums and I cant find it, im tired of getting wad instead of was lol, having no real clue why the word wad is in the memory bank -_-.

yeah the keyboard makes me make typos too but i still use it cos i have no choice
if samsung comes out with an updat (WHICH THEY SHOULD!!!!) then then could fix the keyboard
i think they shud remove the t9 button and just make small gaps in between each key
that way there is a lesser chance of messing up

A "WHAT-DATE?" You've got to be kidding right..? Man, I doubt it seriously that they will update that thing. Have you ever pressed the "check for update" button in the setting? I don't think it even works; at the very least, it does nothing.

As for the keypad, yes, it does forces the user to make many mistakes. I did find that the more I used it, the better I got with it.

I just got a stylus.  Needed it especially for some games that use the control keys as when you are using the number pad at hte bottom of the game, they keys are tiny!
The stylus works really, very well for me.
