3gp is a compressed file type almost like mp3 except it is usually for phones. wmv is used  mostly by windows media player. wmv is capable of looking a lot better then 3gp.

How about what resolutions will the behold play?

I know it'll play videos encoded to 320x240 and 320x200, but what else?

I see people saying they are re-encoding movies to 320x240, but, to me, that looks awful.

Let's say I have a movie with an original aspect ratio of 1.85 to 1.  If i re-encode it to 320x240, that's only 1.33 to one and everything will be severely stretched vertically.  Even 320x200 at 1.6 to 1 it is pretty stretched out.

That doesn't look really bad to you all on your beholds?

I did try to re-encode one movie to 400x160, but it said unsupported format or something like that.

Is there any resolution that does work that would provide a wider aspect ratio?

Is there some technical reason that they didn't make it to allow up to 400x240?

It seems like it's a pretty silly decision they made.

Maybe they can correct in with a ROM update?
