My camera is veeerrrryyyy slow and another post suggests using Sport mode (Camera button, Setup, Scene). Scene says None. What am I missing. Are there any other suggestions to speed up the shutter speed?

1. Press the shutter button to instantly activate the camera.
2. Upon start of the camera, if in video mode, select the camera icon on extreme top left.
3. Select the "Mode" icon (2nd icon from upper extreme left).
4. Select "Single" mode.
5. Select "Setup" (extreme bottom left)
6. On the "Scene" bar, it should read "None" by default.
7. Press that button to open the Scene options menu.
8. Select the running man (Sports) icon... (Directly under the "None" button) & hit OK.
9. Press the down arrow once... on the extreme right (directly above the "OK" button).
10. On the first bar, set focus to "Auto Focus".
11. Set the Image Quality to Superfine and you're all set!
12. Test your settings my snapping a motion scene on your TV screen.

Hope this helps!

I followed your instructions, but the Scene selection has None and it's greyed out-no drop down. I must have something else selected that turns off this selection. Any idea?

You simply skipped step #4. I know this cause you said the scene selection said "None". Step #4 tells you to select "Single"... you had "Smile Shot" selected. Go back & read the steps again & pay close attention to step #4.

 Cheesy Merry Christmas!!!

No, I selected Single on the Mode screen. I've tried to set the Mode to anything else and then set back to Single. The Scene selection in Setup still has None and greyed out.  Undecided
