It's terrible. I was pretty stoked about this phone especially the camera, but all the pictures I've taken are really just horrible quality.  Cry

I noticed in the delay after the picture is taken, the quality is Pristine! for a moment, then it significantly gets fuzzier. I put some on my computer and they are about 400x600. Doesn't make sense... Huh

Has anyone experienced this or heard of this before?

My next thought is to call Samsung and tell em it's defective.  Undecided

I'm pretty savvy with settings and all that so it's definitely not something simple like changing the resolution. Any ideas are appreciated =) Thanks.

Hmm. I should post an example. Its not what you are suggesting. The FILE SIZE of the 5MP pictures is way too small. I can see the actual resolution of the photos and it is around 400x600.

If anyone else has any ideas or heard of this I'd appreciate it.

Wow! It's interesting to hear another person with the same problem. I can find anything on the internet and there is NOTHING about this phone's camera malfunctioning like this.

I contacted Samsung and they very kindly offered to fix my phone if I pay to ship it to them and give them 2-3 weeks to fix it. I guess that's their idea of a warranty..

I'm going to contact the company I bought the phone from and see what they can do. Maybe bring it in to a local tech and see if they can diagnose it..

I'll stay in touch with progress. This phone is really not worth it without a nice camera built in, I would've paid the extra money to get an iphone and just gone to ATT instead of t-mobile.

Also a quick note. All these pictures were sent to My Albums with T-Mobile. I was thinking maybe they compress it to send there, couldn't find ANY info on that.

But I did test it myself. The picture of my friends dog was taken at 5.0 MP and I sent it to My Albums and then manually downloaded it using a USB Cable. There was no difference. The file on the phone was the same size as the one sent to My Albums.

Just wanted to rule out that notion because it would be an intelligent hypothesis.
