Also, i searched the innovator website and have found no article, bulletin, etc. stating that the Behold is not supported. Why would Samsung include a "Software Update" option in the Settings menu if you couldn't upgrade the firmware.

wow you newbies won't let it go. Go to the innovator site. Look at supported phones...NO BEHOLD! Now read the discussion board under topic "behold support" there is a post by the widget development team that says no support. This has been reposted on our forum. Go ahead and hold your breath if you Just won't except this and i'll laugh when you hit floor dead. Oh and by the way the app store is for sambian and windows mobile not java. How bout you do some research.

According to the Samsung Innovator website, there is a Java SDK and there are Java apps being developed. As far as widgets, it looks like the F480i is supported which i believe is the predecessor to the Behold. So, I don't see why the Behold would not be supported.
read all the posts for this topic. I already said there would be java apps in the future...there just aren't any yet. The app store is open in europe where there is not many phones still using the old java technology no one is developing games...at least not in the samsung community. Just go ahead and call samsung and see what they tell you cause you obviously know more than everyone else on the site that already told you the behold isn't supported.

Wow, that was pretty hostile even though i mentioned nothing of a java app store in the usa, just the fact it is being developed. Obviously if you go to the website....

Also, I searched again for the supposed topic 'behold support' and again found no such topic and just because the phone is not listed on the website doesnt mean it wont be supported in the future. My next step is going to be to call samsung and find out for sure if they in fact are releasing a firmware update. You should do your research before you attack me with more nonsense and misinterpret what i say. I know ive done an extensive amount of research on this except contacting Samsung.

i just don't understand why you would seek information and then get pissy when the info you get is not what you want to hear. your a newbie so you don't get that all this has been discussed and is a dead topic. this thread is a month old and yes many members have already called samsung, but you must know that cause of all your "extensive searching". Have fun figuring things out for yourself cause with your know it all attitude no one is going to want to help you.

I see we are still hostile...I'm guessing you have nothing better to do than harass people and act like an elitist on a forum for a cell phone.   Yes, I do know quite a bit about wireless technology and software. I am a developer after all. I spent a fair amount of time with the software. I never said I an subject matter expert on this topic and I did not ask for help nor do I want it. I was only posting my findings on this topic in hopes of clarification based on my research because honestly I've looked at all the posts on this forum and they are very vague or misleading.  I did a query search for all and found nothing in the discussion board. I even clicked on the Discussion Board link under Widgets and found nothing. Looks like I goofed and I will admit I overlooked it. Thanks for the link. Looks like I'm not a "know it all" after all.

http://innovator.samsungmobile.com/sch/totalSearch.do?platform1=true&platform2=true&platform3=true&platform4=true&sType=total&topquery=behold

Also, since you neither work with Samsung's SDK team or Widget Team or are affiliated with them, how can you really prove this is entirely factual other than from a confirmation from one person on the widget team via forum who says it is not officially supported and is very vague about it. The other person didn't even know what model it was. Well, only time will tell. I will be contacting Samsung tomorrow to further my research. Can you tell me what the Software Update option in the Settings menu is for?

why does this happen to all t-mobile phones. Answer t-mobile is a crooked company and make them selves seem cheap and dont support anything except for the phones they make.

All the phones besides t-mobile brand phones are not supported for anything. Reason is they dont have a good 3g network, good phones besides behold memoir and maybe highlight, and their service is horrible. att and sprint are the only good companies to get phones more supported by the carrier than t-mobile.

To sum it up t-mobile is holding us back

Now that there's an entire Java ME toolset (http://innovator.samsungmobile.com/platform.main.do?platformId=3) and the firmware has been released (http://www.samsung-behold.com/index.php?topic=4197.0), are there any new developments, ideas, or teasers?

btw, i don't care about 'officially supported', as long as somebody can develop something and make it decently good.

I finally figured out how to add addresses and look up businesses on the web and synchronize them to my Navigator's "Favorites". If anyone is interested here is the link: http://my.telenav.com

The firmware listed in that post is the exact firmware already on your phone.
