Thanks to mastewart for letting us know that the final version of Opera Mini 5 is out.  I've converted the files to full touch screen. Thanks to SamsungBehold for fixing the file limitation issue.

Maybe it's just me but the keyboard seems easier to type on.  I'm not hitting the wrong keys as much.  Cool

FYI, You need a data plan to use this app!

To whoever only downloaded the jar file...both the jar and jad files need to be downloaded and installed using TK file explorer in order to work correctly.

My thoughts so far:

There is an option in settings where you can choose not to use the Opera keyboard.  It will then allow you to use the phone's default keyboard to type stuff in. Added on 3/22 The keyboard option is most definitely a good thing. Opera Mini's keys are smaller than the phone's so I am very happy about this.

It seems about the same speed as the beta version but after a page fully loads, it can take a few seconds before I'm able to scroll down. Is anyone else noticing this?  Added on 3/22  The lag doesn't seem to be as bad as before.

It seems like there are a few more options and the speed dial comes preloaded with Twitter and Facebook.  Not a big deal since you can customize it yourself, but it's nice that it's already on there.

I'll add more as I continue to use Opera.

What is Opera Mini (I've heard of it several times & seen it on the apps list) & do you need a data plan to make it work?

Opera mini is a mobile web browser that is pretty nice. Yes it does require a data plan.

Oh, okay... I wasn't quite sure but I figured that from what I've skimmed through so far. Thanks!

March 23rd:  I love that it gives you the Save Password option and actually does same them!  I haven't had to log in to here, Facebook, Myspace, Yahoo mail, or Twitter yet!  Had that option on the beta version too, but I still had to log in everytime I pulled OperaMini up.  Cool

I know I've said this before, but I really do love the keyboard option!  It is making everything so much faster and I can get so much more done!  I'd have to say that this is by far the best feature on the final version! (That I've found LOL)

Having a problem on facebook.

I type something in a comment box, but they when saving, it reloads the page and the comment is gone and has to be retyped.

The old version didn't do this.

Anyone else seeing this?

Also, sorry, but what exactly does it mean when you say you added full-screen and full-touch?  Does this version only work right in landscape?

Regarding Facebook.  Are you sure you're waiting for it to finish and not hitting Share too quickly? I am currently using the default phone keyboard option.  When I finish typing, I click OK, it temporarily shows what I've typed, but the page quickly reloads.  The update is in then in the box where it should be, then all I gotta do is click Share.

I've had the same problem (with the beta version) you're describing on this forum.  Usually what happens is the phone is transferring the words to the post box and I hit something by mistake with my finger while it's loading.  (Most likely when I scroll down to hit the Post button, I hit something while it's still loading) Everything is erased.

On the full screen/ full touch:  What that means is that I removed the arrow keys at the bottom of the screen so the pages take up the whole screen. I didn't actually add anything to the app, I just converted the files.  It responds fully to touch.  You scroll down by dragging your finger up. The landscape can still be turned on and off in the settings.

I used TK to install, I started it up now it says "installing..." and is stuck about 15%.
I have the old data plan, not the current unlimited, did anyone else have this problem?

No it worked fine for me.  It did take longer to install than previous versions.  Exit out and if restarting it doesn't work, you'll probably have to reinstall with TK.

I like this way better than the default browser.  It has a lot of cool features.  The only thing I wish it had was the ability to turn landscape when you turn the phone landscape instead of having to do it manually.  I like if you hold it gives you sort of a secondary menu sort of like a right click.  Great job posting this app.

It never finished the install, always just sat there.  Must be because I'm using the old 'grandfathered' 100 MB data plan.

I don't have a data plan. Opera isn't installing because of that, right?
