Hi there!
I'm planing to buy a Behold II from ebay and I need to know if I need internet from my service provider(T-Mobile) to operate the phone?.

the answer is no .

you  can use it with wifi without any data plans but it might be better if you buy a data plan if you dont have a router with you everywhere. lol.

they(tmobile) will not force you to get any data plan on the behold 2 unless you get it from the tmobile store.

Your phone is your phone, because you're buying it 3rd party. T-Mobile cannot force anything on to you. No data plan, no texting plan, and no calling plan. Obviously, you need some of those to actually make your phone worth something.

Bottom line is, you get to choose what you pay for. So a data plan is not forced. You will still need to pay for minutes and texting in order to give your phone that capability (hopefully that's obvious to you), but it is capable.

yes you will. As long as you have a messaging and service on your phone which is quite obvious. If you don't have any messaging plan then it will cost you alot .  Telenubby gots some kind of free messaging service that is free but only sms n theres still limitations cause you can't receive a reply
